  1. Diving and breathing in São Miguel

    After a couple of days of additional preparation we decided to do a few more dives in the vicinity of Ponta Delgada. There are certainly more spots in the Azores for interesting diving, but in retrospect, it would take a bit more experience and a bit more dive-centric planning to fully take advantage of them. So off we went for some more quality time with Bruno and Suzi from Best Spot Azores.

  2. Wreck diving in São Miguel

    Just a few minutes from Ponta Delgada harbour lies a wreck of a ship that at one point participated in the D-Day invasion of 1944, and was later re-fitted as a cargo ship. It is known as the Dori wreck, and it’s one of the go-to locations for dive shops based in Ponta Delgada.

  3. The Curaçao Chronicles

    When the weather in Southern Ontario turns nasty, already cold and gloomy, but not yet white and fluffy, it’s the perfect time to head some place where it’s always warm. After short deliberations, we got a pair of roundtrip tickets to Curaçao, not the least because it’s one of the few places in the Caribbean that is not completely overstuffed with tourists, but does have direct flights from YYZ. The intention was to spend a week scuba diving, riding scooters and in general having some fun in the sun. Something to contrast the more demanding trip to Newfoundland in the summer 😉
