    On a warm sunny day, there is nothing better than to hop on your scooter and see where the road takes you. With about 50 km separating our starting point from the far east end of the island – the parish of Nordeste – we had a long way to go. It’s peanuts by North American standards, but this is the Azores! Anything could happen!

  2. Into the blue and into the green

    In the context of the nine islands of the Azores archipelago, São Miguel is often referred to as the green one. The reason for this is apparent as soon as you throw one casual look at it – it’s all green – but it becomes even more pronounced when you dwell deeper into the lush rainforest-like interior of Nordeste.
