    We woke up to find out that nobody rolled off the edge of the cliff into the canyon. That’s always a good thing. Since we gave up trying to cook breakfast while camping a long time ago, the morning routine consisted mostly of packing up and riding around a little, just to check if the canyon looked any better from another vantage point. It looked about the same.

  2. Lake Powell and Monument Valley

    In the morning we indulged in the typical American road tripping breakfast – eggs and hash browns. Much more satisfying than yesterday’s squished turnover. I had another point of interest in my GPS, which I hoped would be a little less demanding than the White Pocket – Alstrom Point. Lake Powell is famous for its beauty and variety of both water and land based recreational activities around it, and some say that point is the most scenic overlook in the area. Is it?

  3. Looking for the Eclipse

    In another life I was very much into astronomy. Not that one needs an excuse to go see an eclipse, but I felt I almost had to. You know, for research. Plus, it would be our first trip on street bikes since the 2013 outing to Newfoundland. This was going to be a little different.

    Taking a street bike on a dirt trail? No, that never happened to us before.
